Palace – Ultrasound

Palace will release new album Ultrasound on April 5.

The album is deeply personal to frontman Leo as during the writing process for the first batch of songs, his partner suffered a miscarriage. This led to Ultrasound becoming his diary of a year-long struggle.
He said: “It was incredibly hard to comprehend what had happened, how to deal with it and how to move forward.
“The album is the journey of that experience – starting with a loss, then a period of processing, and then finally acceptance, release and growth. And being in awe of women within that. Their dignity, strength and courage in how they can deal with these things that feel beyond a man.”

Defects will release new album Modern Error on May 24 through Mascot Records.

“I use songwriting as a tool to vent rather than be poetic,” explains frontman Tony Maue.
“The traumatic memories of going into care, losing my family when I was very young, and having to deal with that and adjusting myself to that kind of lifestyle, at the time was brutal. The only thing that helped me, and I’m not just saying this, was music.”

“We’ve always been told to strive for perfection, but I don’t think anyone can be perfect,” he considers. “We are all defects in a way, but that makes us all unique.”
