It’s time to get to know 7 Minutes In Heaven! We set vocalist Timmy Rasmussen 10 questions about his musical taste, likes and guilty pleasures!

How would you describe your taste in music?

I usually just say alternative. I like music on the punk side of the spectrum, I like pop music, I like indie music. It’s all over the place.

Who do you consider to be your favourite band and why?

blink-182 was my favorite band / biggest inspiration growing up but through high school and my adult life The Maine has been my favorite band. I’ve watched them from a distance rise, fall, rise again and create something so rad with their music and 8123. It’s really inspiring. The Maine is love, The Maine is life.

Who is the best live band you’ve ever seen?

I just saw Keep Flying for the first time and their energy was unreal.

What is the one song that you could listen to forever?

Blinded by Third Eye Blind.

What album, if any, was a turning point in your musical life and why?

Homesick by A Day To Remember. I never got into the whole “post-hardcore” phase that happened but was brought up on alternative music and ADTR’s record hit me at a good time when it came out and really bridged that gap for me.

In 3 words, what makes a good album or song

Well written lyrics.

A festival or a gig? Why?

It depends. I like festivals if I have somewhere I can go and recoup but I’ve gone to more venue shows. It sounds better and there’s nothing like being in a packed out room sweating and singing along to my favorite bands. I’m a sucker for intimacy.

Who would be your 3 dream festival headliners?

Third Eye Blind, Brand New, The Dangerous Summer.

Who are the best new band you¹ve discovered lately that everyone should know about?

A Summer High who is on tour with us right now is incredible. Still been obsessed with Super American, Dead!, our labelmates Stand Atlantic are awesome as well.

What band or artist is your secret, or not so secret, guilty pleasure?

I can air-program to almost the entire “Hell Is What You Make It” record by Breathe Carolina and I have no shame.
