Bristolian pop-punkers Highlives unveil their new 5-track EP ‘Misguided Youth’ set for release on December 11th. Speaking of the inspiration behind the EP, vocalist Liam Edwards says: “You are always going to be surrounded by temptations throughout life, of both the good and bad kind. We’re often misguided through our younger years, and our lyrics reflect on that a lot.”
Edward’s melancholic vocals contrast with the band’s vivacious pop punk help to provide the contrast between the challenges faced and hopefullness of youth.
“I think that when you’re young, with so much information being shoved down your throat – information that is constantly being contradicted from person to person – it’s very easy to make bad decisions.” Says the front-man.
It is the first time that Highlives are 100% happy with everything as mentioned by the vocalist, who goes on to say; “This EP showcases our progression as a band as well as our versatility and range of influences.”
The track listing for Misguided Youth has been revealed as follows:
1 – Wake Me Up
2 – Heavy Weight
3 – Twenty-Two
4 – Walking Blind
5 – Better Days
