The Los Angeles Committee Of Human Rights Watch have revealed they will present the late Chris Cornell with the inaugural Promise Award at this year’s dinner, set to take place on November 14.
The award, recognising an outstanding song, television show, or film that advances the values of equity and justice in an original and powerful way, is fittingly named after Chris Cornell’s song The Promise, written as the title track for the film of the same name about the Armenian genocides.
Justin Connolly, director of Human Rights Watch’s Los Angeles Committee says; “We are proud to name this award after The Promise, and present the inaugural award to Chris Cornell’s inspiring song.”
