UK leading independent label Big Scary Monsters have revealed they will be bringing their pop-up shop back in 20181 This time taking up residence in Welsh capital Cardiff! The shop is set to be open between the 11th and 16th April 2018 and follows their successful London one in 2017!
The pop-up will be a chance for vinyl lovers to get their hands on some limited edition releases as well as serving as a hang-out space with some special in-store performances!
Tiny Moving Parts will be doing a full shop takeover on the 12th April! This coincides with their Cardiff headline show and the first 25 TMP show ticket holders to turn up to the pop-up shop on the 12th will receive free TMP beer koozies!
Nervus‘ Em Foster will also be making an appearance to perform some of the band’s tracks solo as well as Slaughter Beach Dog popping in for a solo performance midway through a tour with Tigers Jaw.
Jamie Lenman and Cameron Boucher will also be appearing for solo performances!
The label says; “After the success of our popup shop in London last year, we wanted to go even bigger this time around, but to somewhere we haven’t really trod ground before. It’s easy to forget that our little corner of the music scene doesn’t just revolve around London, and that actually a lot of our bands and fans are from all corners of the UK. So, we wracked our brains: where else has a vibrant music scene? Where else will have most likely heard of Big Scary Monsters, but isn’t in England? Where else has a fabulous castle right in the city centre with ace music venues nestled around its border? Well, Cardiff of course!
“There are loads of excellent Welsh artists out there, perhaps not as well known to the rest of the UK, and with Clwb Ifor Bach, Le Pub, Failure By Jealous Lovers, Spillers and Diverse Music all in close vicinity, we couldn’t ask for a better place to set up shop for a whole week. We’re also teaming up with the fantastic folk over at Heads Above The Waves to help deliver a week with mental health and positivity in mind, and we’ll be having a load of their stuff in store as well as donation buckets to help them carry on the fantastic work they do with young people suffering from dealing with depression and self-harm. The shop isn’t just for us to shout about how great we are – we also want to get to know the locals! It’s going to be a huge challenge for us being in a place that admittedly we don’t know so well, but we also can’t wait to see what Cardiff has in store for us.”
