What better way is there to find some new friends? Wearing band merch of course! You always hope that by wearing your favourite band’s merch out in public, you’ll end up finding some new friends who also like them. The reality though seems to be all you do is get dirty looks and comments from older people and those people preaching about God saying you’re the spawn of Satan (well that’s been my experience but hey! If I’m Satan’s daughter, then cool beans!).
There’s so many bands these days and so much merch, that it’s always really hard to pick what you want and money isn’t an endless supply unfortunately (unless you’re super lucky). So each month, we’re here to give some suggestions of our favourite pieces of band merch and where you can find it.
1 – Creeper
How many of you hate the sun? (I know I do and have the t-shirt to prove it, thanks to Motionless In White’s bassist Ghost’s awesome Worndoll collection which you can find here!) Well our favourite goths in Creeper have brought some awesome ‘enemies of the sun’ merch that will protect you from the sun’s harmful rays! The entire line is incredible and you can find it all here but our pick of the bunch is their ‘hiding from the daylight’ sunglasses priced at £10.
2 – Moose Blood
The emos in Moose Blood have been the main band bringing emo back to it’s best. They also have some of the most awesome merch around. This ‘emo is a gang’ tee is perfect for those of us who are still firmly in the emo phase (it isn’t a phase mum!). At £15.00 its worth a buy and you can get it here.
3 – Issues
US rockers Issues saw a perfect merch opportunity with the popularity of PokemonGo! Debuting this Pokemon inspired tee. Priced at $15, the band turned themselves into Pokemon masters and you can get it here in blue, white, red or yellow (but obviously red because team Valor!).
4 – More Than Most
London alt-rockers More Than Most have one of the most intricate designs for their t-shirts. The design features an inspiring lyric form one of their songs “nothing is set in stone, impossible is temporary” and the t-shirts, priced at only £10 are available in black, white, pink, maroon and red. You can get them here.
5 – Milk Teeth
Milk Teeth are one of the rising stars of the UK music scene and have a hoody that we here at AltCorner have fallen in love with and cannot wait for it to get cold again so we can wear it! It’s in the style of the MTV logo and is only $15! You can buy one here.
So that’s some of our favourite pieces of merch for this month! If you’ve seen any awesome pieces that you think deserve a place in our five of the month, tweet us at @altcornermusic and let us know!
