HOT TAKES: Getting to know MTXS

Welcome to the feature; Hot Takes! We chat to a band or artist that we have unearthed as some what of a hidden gem and allow them the chance to introduce themselves to you, the reader.

Q1 – Who is in your band?

Paul Collins – Vocals

Aidan Cooper – Guitar / Vocals

Reece Boakes – Bass / Vocals

Rudi McDonald – Guitar

Connor Mollison – Drums

Q2 – What is your take on your own sound?

Heavy hardcore music with high energy, that includes the truth about living in a modern world. Taking influence and inspiration from personal experiences in life and putting them into heavy music.

Q3 – If someone was listening to your music for the first time, what song would you tell them to listen to and why?

It would be the song ‘Liberation‘ off our new album ‘Ache‘, as it has everything that explains our sound perfectly. High energy, a positive message and the groove that you want to hear in heavy music.

Q4 – What is the plan for 2019?

2019 has been a crazy year already. Releasing ‘Ache‘ has been incredible and the response to the album has also been amazing. We have an upcoming tour with Bleach this September, as well as festivals like Summitfest in August and Fall In The Brawl 4 in November, with more tours being booked as we speak.

Q5 – What is the one song you wish you wrote?

Disaster Piece by Slipknot

The Pizza Theme from the ‘Spiderman 2’ Playstation 2 game

Q6 – What three bands inspired or continue to inspire you the three bands that inspire you?

There are so many amazing bands out there now that continue to influence me. Out of them all I would say Varials, they’re a modern inspiration for their big chunky tone and wicked low vocal style, Slipknot for their high energy, adrenaline and fast paced beats and Incendiary for speaking the truth and having a message within the music.

Q7 – Where can our readers see you live or listen to your music?

You can see MTXS across the UK this September with Bleach, festival appearances and more tours to be announced. Head to our social media pages for a full list of dates. facebook.com/mtxsband Instagram @mtxsband

You can hear our new album ‘Ache‘ on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and many more of your favourite music platforms.

Q8 – If your band was an animal, what would it be and why?

A wasp because our live performance will leave a sting you’ll never forget.
