Hot Takes: Getting To Know Italian Pop-Punk Band Away From Here!

Welcome to the feature; Hot Takes! We chat to a band or artist that we have unearthed as some what of a hidden gem and allow them the chance to introduce themselves to you, the reader.

In this edition, we have the wonderful Away From Here from Parma, Italy! The quintet have just released their first EP “All The Feelings Come Out” that features five songs, with each song symbolizing a different feeling; sadness, happiness, melancholy, love and anger.

We caught up with the band with out Hot Takes set of questions and here is our chat:

Q1: Who is in your band?

The band is composed of five members: – Francesca Urso (lead singer); – Andrea Ricchetti (second voice/guitar); – Fabiano Dall’asta (guitar); – Giovanni Camposano (bass); – Luca Bajardi (drum).

Q2: What is your take on your own sound?

We think that we do a different kind of pop punk that discerns from classic pop punk. Our band is characterized from melodic vocals and catchy songs with the combination of female and male voices that makes the songs more fascinating. For this reasons we think that our sound is good and we like what we do.

Q3: If you someone was listening to your music for the first time, what song would you tell them to listen to and why?

We suggest to listen “People Always Leave” which is our first single from our first EP “All The Feelings Come Out” because is a catchy song and that song reflects our sound, but also “Daydream” is another song that we suggest to listen because in that song there’s the combination of female and male voices.

Q4: What is the plan for 2019?

We’re going to do some gigs in Italy and we hope to play also in Europe and of course, there will be new stuff to listen to you.

Q5: What is the one song you wish you wrote?

Fra: I think.. I wuould love to write a song like “Let the Flames Begin” by Paramore because.. that song for me is so powerful and creepy.

Andrea: “Avalanche” by Bring me the Horizon, cause it is my favourite song by them.

Fabiano: I’d like to write a song like “Sweetness” by Jimmy Eat World ‘cause is such a good song.

Luca: “Thriller” by Fall Out Boy.

Giò: “There is” by The Box Car Racer.

Q6: What three bands inspired or continue to inspire you the most?

We Are The In Crowd, State Champs and As It Is, but someone else of us inspires also from Sum41, All Time Low or Blink-182.

Q7: Where can our readers see you live or listen to your music?

Unfortunately for now we’re going to play in Italy and as we said first, we want to play in Europe soon, but you can listen us everywhere such as Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube, Jamendo.

Q8: If your band was an animal, what would it be and why?

We choose an owl, because.. owl symbolizes the dream, the hope and the good luck that connects with the meaning of the name of the band “Away From Here” – that is music is our way to go away from reality and dream…an escape from daily life.
