Our first track of the day of 2017 goes to…… Kent quartet Get Inuit! Their powerpop is akin to Jimmy Eat World and they have released giant new track Barbiturates! The track is actually incredible! Theres heavy guitars and slower, more mellow sections.

The band have already been championed by the likes of Huw Stephens and Annie Mac, have toured with the likes of Slaves and Vant! Judging by this track, 2017 is set to be a cracker for them!

Frontman Jamie Glass tells Noisey who premiered the track; “The song is broadly about someone slowly but surely becoming dependent on a drug to live a normal life. The song depicts a person’s need to take barbiturates to be able to function and move without pain whilst also becoming addicted. The music is meant to characterize the mood swings that a person goes through when needing sedation, with heavy guitar and screams representing the pain and mental anguish, with the quiet sections showing a more controlled state.”
