Today’s track fo the day comes from Birmingham pop punkers Coast to Coast. They have just announced their new EP The Length of a Smile is to be released on March 24 and the lead single Post Graduation is our track of the day!
Frontman Kieran Hyland says of the track; “I recently graduated from university after the three best years of my life, I said goodbye to the mates I made and packed my bags up to come back home to live with my parents, and there was a sudden crushing realisation that things would likely never be the same. The lyrics are about how my time living away from home went so fast and how I took everything for granted, and now I was just back where I started three years ago. One of my favourite lyrics is “We watched a pile of letters build up on the living room floor” which refers to how you could feel a change in all the mates I had made over the three years, it was like everyone was on a bit of a downer and had realised that this experience was over.”
