Different Animals‘ is Volumes‘ third album and most accomplished sound to date and first release on new label Fearless Records.

As a modern melodic metalcore band that already stand out and have a good fanbase across the world; ‘Different Animals’ proves they have the quality and talent to keep producing dynamic, melodic tracks that build on the success of the previous albums. Far from just 12 similar sounding, monotonous tracks, they have produced 12 dynamic tracks that seem to have a mood and perogative of their own although a couple aren’t quite at the standard of the rest of the album.

Personally my favourite tracks are ‘Finite-master‘ and ‘Feels Good‘ although that has changed a number of times over the last couple of weeks. Comparing this album to their last is easy; its simply better, especially after a few listens through which is really no small feat, the different sounds, moods and guitar riffs make for a truly enjoyable listen but, the album isnt without its flaws though, especially if metalcore isnt your cup of tea and this will not make you a fan. For me I think the album would have been better without ‘Waves Control‘ and ‘Left For Dead‘. It isnt that they are bad songs, they just don’t seem to fit with the rest of the albums atmosphere and would probably have been better on their first album, but I’m sure that many many people will like them as this is just my opinion. All things considered this will be the bands most popular album to date.
