Melbourne metalcore act Void of Vision are set to release their debut album on September 30. Children of Chrome sees the band channel their rage towards the world into 11 heavy, hard-hitting tracks
Opening track // features Stray From The Path’s Drew York. It’s quite a catchy track with some good riffs and the mixture of the two vocals works really well. The clean vocals in Blacklist are a nice difference to the screams and the breakdowns are heavy. The Hills begins as if it followed on from the previous track. The screams are tight. The calm beginning of Sunrise provides a momentary relief from the onslaught of screams and blistering guitars, however normal service is resumed shortly after.
A lot of the record is pretty much the same. If I wasn’t listening intently, I would have thought it was just one big song. However, that doesn’t mean that it isn’t a good record, in fact, it is a very good album that I enjoyed thoroughly! The guitar work throughout is intricate and enjoyable.
