Welsh singer-songwriter Violet Skies is a ridiculously talented lady and her new EP This Was Us is set for release on May 26. She has already received airplay on BBC Radio 1, 2 and Wales as well as performing around the world at showcases including New York, Shanghai and Beijing.
Opening track Island will make you fall in love completely with Violet. It showcases a pretty incredible vocal range and is a catchy track. Think a female version of Ed Sheeran and you’re there with the sound! The vocals throughout the EP are pretty incredible and the lyrics are mature and thought-provoking. As with most singer-songwriters, the instrumentation is minimal but when you have a voice like Violet’s that is exactly what you want, No Night No Day is basically acapella and works really well. My favourite track has to be Silence.
