Since they first appeared in my inbox, I’ve fallen in love with US rockers Restless Streets. As they prepare to release new EP Together on Friday April 28, we got our hands on it to have a listen. And let me tell you now, me likey!

Opening track A Little More eases in with an atmospheric build-up and has a bit of a We Are The Ocean vibe mixed with vocals slightly akin to Ben Barlow of Neck Deep. It is a drum focused track with a simple but effective melody. Roots Dig In is catchy and the vocals come through really well, they’re smooth and easy listening. Twin Flame is probably one of the most laid back tracks I’ve heard in a while.

Latest single Wrong Kids is a melancholic track with a more intense feel than the rest of the EP so far, including some harsh vocals, however, it still keeps the easy listening feel for the most part. Glow is a song that can easily put you to sleep but in a good way! It’s so relaxed. The harsh vocals are back in Drive Fast and combine with the smooth vocals in parts almost effortlessly. Closing track Dreamers is catchy and a good ending to the record.

The entire EP is very easy listening with simple instrumentation, smooth vocals and a calming feel. At times, the vocals have an old school R&B feel to them, adding to the effect this EP has. I’m hooked!
