REDWOOD – Lay Your Love Down

From the opening heartfelt moments of this EP, it definitely seems to set tone for what you can expect from these indie rockers!

From the opening heartfelt moments of this EP, it definitely seems to set tone for what you can expect from these indie rocker’s.

Starting off with the heartfelt “In Your Arms” this is a track that is something The Delays would be extremely proud of writing, starting out with gentle vocals and guitars until leading into a soaring epic crescendo that will leave the listeners hairs on their neck standing.

Second track “Mother” starts out in a similar light and carries on the soaring indie rock sound. The one thing for this reviewer that stands out are the smart metaphors contained within the lyrics.

Up next is “Denaline” starting off with a soft guitar riff that continues throughout the song with some solo parts. This song really shows the talent of the singer with high and low vocals. Another thing I love about this song is the way the bass guitar stands out with the drums.

The last two tracks on this EP are “Magnolia” and “Yellowstone“. Magnolia is probably the most relaxing song on this EP with the harmony sounds and the clean, peaceful guitar effects and delays. This is also the longest song and doesn’t have much vocals.

Yellowstone” has a much more acoustic sound and sounds a lot different to the other songs with different vocals singing and pauses between the guitar sounds at the beginning but this song will catch you off guard when a louder sound with electric guitars and drum beats comes in.

Overall this EP has a peaceful and relaxing sound to it that all you indie fans will love!
