Vancouver’s progressive metallers Neck Of The Woods are releasing their killer debut album The Passenger through Basick Records on 15th September!

Neck Of The Woods have already released an insane single from the new album entitled Bottom Feeder which you should definitely check out below.

On the new single, the band has said it is about “Recognising recurring patterns in relationships that lead to imminent failure and learning to break free from these tropes.”

To me, the first thing that stands out about The Passenger is the intriguing use of instrumentalization between some of the tracks. The instrumental tracks Open Water and Drift not only show case the insane skills of their guitarist but also help break up the album a bit and grab the listeners attention again since they are so much lighter than the other tracks. Honestly I could very happily just listen to those two hypnotic tracks for hours, they’re oddly calming which is strange in the middle of a metal album!

Although Bottom Feeder is the current single from the album, my favourite track is NailbiterJeff’s killer vocals and the screaming guitar riffs making this an insane track!

I strongly suggest this album for any fans of Everytime I die, The Dillinger Escape Plan and Gojira.
