Thrash metallers Havok have been working on latest release Conformicide for the last three years and early reports from the released tracks suggest it is set to top 2013’s Unnatural Selection.

Opening track F.P.C has a calm, atmospheric opening instrumental which is not something you’d expect in a thrash record. It honestly sounds like a Danny Elfman score for a Tim Burton film! About a minute in, this all changes and a distorted vocals kick in with a good bassline. Hang Em High grabs your attention with its instrumental and riffs.

Drum focused Peace Is In Pieces is another track worthy of note. Closing track Slaughtered rounds the record off with gritty guitars, tight screams, a punchy bassline and pounding drums, the track, like the rest, is layered well

Overall this is a record that you want to blast full volume and get your head banging too! The instrumentals are great. The lyrics talk about the state of the world and are delivered well by vocalists/guitarist David Sanchez. This is a thrash record that is probably the best of the year!
