Reading natives, The Final Clause of Tacitus release Not Like The Rest, their follow up EP to Peace in Chaos. The energetic foursome’s ready to bring the funk to the surface once more.

Not Like the Rest starts with Joe Rogan the MMA commentator and stand-up comedian “everybody’s wearing clothes they don’t wanna wear. Everybody’s showing up and doing something they don’t wanna do, they have no connection to, that’s the problem with our society” The introduction of how society isn’t connected. The music for Tables Turn begins with groovy beats and a good dose of funky bass.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers influences 5 Minutes of Funk, great groove riffs, as vocalist Matt Dunne announces 5 Minutes of Funk, this is a lighter version of a Rage Against the Machine chant. Guitar riffs for Fingerprints are exceptional as Tom Burden’s skills push this track to the forefront of the record. Daryl Mallow keeps the drum beat flowing in this funk ruled record. The groove continues with Try Again (or Don’t) the riff explodes and vocal yells “You’ll never get it right” a sure-fire sign fists will pump towards the ceiling.

TFCOT added a bit more aggression to this EP with Bad for Your Health the lyrical flow is a, all I wanted was a Pepsi vibe. Walk on the Moon baselines are prominent in this track. Throughout this EP Andy Silva proves his ability to make this funk flow and that is all some of us want.

Not Like The Rest shows development from their debut EP. These four guys from Reading have touched on a formula that’s working for them. Let’s look forward to see/hear how they improve, evolve and mean business in this musical world.
