Faux – Inhale EP

Kicking the EP off is the electrifying “Inhale” before kicking into the ever so catchy “Nerves”. Then there is the more brit-pop feelings of “Call” before it dives into the more emo dwellings of “You know”. The EP finishes with the pop punk musings of lead single “Swimmingly”.

Faux are a four piece dirty pop band from Southampton. The band formed back in March 2014 and released their debut EP Patterns, a year later. Since then they have played to thousands upon thousands of people in their hometown, they have also gained thousands of followers and have racked up a staggering 12,000 on their video for their single Swimmingly and over 8,000 views on their recently released video Inhale. Made up of vocalist and guitarist Lee, guitarist Daly, bassist Luke and drummer James. The quartet are gearing up to release their second EP Inhale.

Overall, for only their second EP, this is incredible. Sounding a lot like Jimmy eat world in places, you can feel the bands many influences seep through in each song both lyrically and musically. The EP is full of melodic vocals and outstanding guitars. It is a joy to listen to and you will be singing the songs for days after. The EP is a gateway to realsing what the band hold as musicians. It will be exciting to hear a full album from Faux sometime in the future.

9/10
