The Phoenix is CKY’s first album since 2009’s Carver City and has been very long-awaited.

The eight track record opens with latest single Replaceable, which has an interesting opening instrumental that is attention grabbing. The vocals on Days Of Self Destruction seem to blend in with the instrumentation, however it is catchy and would sound great live. There is a ridiculously brilliant riff to close out the track too!

I really like Unknown Enemy’s vibe. It’s a bit more haunting than the previous two tracks and Wiping Off The Dead has the same feel.

Overall, the record is a pretty good hard rock record and one that shows the 8 year wait has been worth it!
