Harrogate hardcore trio Blood Youth are set to release their debut album Beyond Repair on April 7th. The record is the highly anticipated follow-up to EPs Inside My Head (2015) and Closure (2016). So let’s have a listen and see what the trio have come up with.

Opener Making Waves is straight in with a tasty riff which continues behind frontman Kaya Tarsus’ angry vocals. There is a good mix of melodic and heavy in the track, setting the pace for the rest of the record. The riffs continue in What I’m Running From again keeping with the anger.  Savanna is in your face.

Let’s focus on latest single I Remember which has an absolutely banging riff and is like a conversation you would have with your younger self if you can. Now if you shoot your mind back to our interview with Kaya (you can see it here) he mentions Bless as being one of the tracks he really likes and I can see why. It’s a monster track with huge guitars and great vocals. This one truly sums up the mix between melodic and hardcore which brings us to closing track Man Made Disasters and this song, like its predecessors is definitely not a man made disaster in fact, it’s almost a man made masterpiece (I’m not going to go all out and say it is a masterpiece just because, how can you top a masterpiece?)

Throughout the record there are gritty riffs and great vocals and the band have got a great mix of heavy and melodic to create a really strong debut full length. These tracks will cause carnage live (in a good way of course) and it is a record that you need to blast at full volume or you aren’t doing it right!
