Solemn Sun have always been the mysterious type, never letting on too much as to what may be brewing under the surface. Now though, the band are happy to announce the release of their new single ‘Bloom‘, which will be released on Friday 04 March.

Having received an overwhelming response to 2014’s self-titled EP, with Kerrang calling it, “Gigantic and achingly intimate at the same time“, the Cheltenham quartet have spent the time since its release touring around the country and putting a lot of time into creating something that’ll take pride in toying with your emotions.

Bloom‘ twists and turns as the guitars swirl around your mind, a haunting feeling dwelling upon the listener. The fuzzing bass lines guide you through this dark and brooding track, whilst Jim Lockey’s distinctive tone echoes from beginning to end.

Solemn sub will be playing the following UK shows over the next month:
Supporting Modern Baseball
25 Febuary – Electric Ballroom, London

Supporting Crooks
02 March – Asylum 2, Birmingham
03 March – Fuel Club, Cardiff
04 March – The Garage (Upstairs), London
05 March – The Mash House, Edinburgh
06 March – Deaf Institue, Manchester

Hi I'm Gareth, A foolish Welshman that has found himself living in Scotland. I adore live music and this all started back in University when a friend dragged me along to my first gig and I saw Travis. From then on I spent a lot of time going to see bands from rubbish uni bands that had formed one drunken night to the mighty Blur. When I finished uni there was a 10 year gap between gigs (long story). Now though, on any given day of the week I can be found in the venues of Glasgow. With regards to my music taste I love anything with great lyrics and heavy drums. When I was younger (and still am) I was obsessed with a band called Alisha's Attic.
When not at a gig I will be found at my computer playing games like Prison Architect, Hearthstone and Wolfenstein.
