Peaness, comically named Chester based indie pop band, have released a music video for their new single Ugly Veg.
The band has created a cute clay stop-motion for the track.
Peaness has said “A lot of our songs come from the conversations we have together. Ugly Veg’ came from a documentary we watched about food waste. We got quite wound up by it so we wrote a song about it!”
Despite the upbeat tone of the music, Ugly Veg carries a somewhat depressing yet important message about how much food is wasted. The song specifically highlights how many vegetables are thrown away because they do not look a certain way. This is shown in the lyrics ‘What a waste, same taste. I want to see oceans clean. I want the world to stay green.’
