It’s time to get to know Make Them Suffer‘s vocalist Sean! We set Sean 10 questions about his musical likes, tastes and guilty pleasures…

How would you describe your taste in music?

Fruity, bold, crisp and refreshing.

Who do you consider to be your favourite band and why?

I don’t really have one, maybe the Smashing Pumpkins, Eminem or Limp Bizkit, just because they were the first sort of “loud” CDs I would play in my room.

Who is the best live band you’ve ever seen?

Honestly, purely for the circumstances and emotional weight on the gig; Misery Signals. The sound was great, it was a tiny intimate show and I’d been listening to them for around 8 years and never been able to see them.

What is the one song that you could listen to forever?

Well, for forever I’d probably want some background music. Mogwai – Burn Girl Prom Queen, because when I listen it makes me feel a super strong sense of nostalgia and comfort, which is odd because I only heard the song for the first time in my 20’s.

What album, if any, was a turning point in your ‘musical life’ and why?

ISISPanopticon, this album opened my eyes to a whole new way of creating and interpreting music.

In 3 words, what makes a good album or song?

Familiarity, Intrigue, Emotion.

A festival or a gig? Why?

Positive energy. I don’t care how angry/depressing your music is, people are there to have a good time. So have a good time performing your craft and your energy will be amplified through your performance and infect the crowd.

Who would be your 3 dream festival headliners?

Deftones, My Bloody Valentine, The Smashing Pumpkins.

Who are the best new band you’ve discovered lately that everyone should know about?

Swain; former Swedish hardcore band turned tongue-in-cheek grunge revivalists.

What band or artist is your secret, or not so secret, guilty pleasure?

Really liking a couple of Harry Styles‘ new tunes.
