It’s time to get to know Restless Streets! We gave the band 10 questions about their musical likes, tastes and guilty pleasures…

How would you describe your taste in music?

We all listen to pretty much everything. A good song is undeniable. Brandon and Brian are really into a lot of up and coming DJ’s. Those guys love going to festivals and spending the weekend checking out new artists, and new forms of music that are created each year. Aaron listens to a lot of different music from classic metal/rock, to Bob Iver, to Shadow Of Intent. I love hearing him pull up with music blasting out of his windows. John and I listen to a lot of similar music. We just went to see Blackbear last week. One band that we all share a common love for is The 1975.

Who do you consider to be your favourite band and why?

Currently my favorite band is a new hardcore band called  “Born A New“. I haven’t listen to much metal/hardcore in the last couple of years, and I’m just starting to crave a little more heavy recently. Born A New released an EP called “Peace Is Dead” that I’ve been jamming non stop lately. Super heavy, and the overall mix of the recording really punches you in the face.

Who is the best live band you’ve ever seen?

I have been to countless unbelievable live shows. I would have to say a few of the most memorable were The 1975, The Bravery, A Perfect Circle, or Incubus.

What is the one song that you could listen to forever?

Betrayed By The Game” by Dance Gavin Dance. That song just never gets old to me!

What album, if any, was a turning point in your ‘musical life’ and why?

I have never had a “turning point” in my musical life. Since I can remember I have always loved writing stories, and listening to music. Everything I’ve ever listened to has influenced me in one way or another to become the musician I am today.

In 3 words, what makes a good album or song?

 Hit after hit.

A festival or a gig? Why?

I love both. Festivals are super fun, but the sound isn’t always incredible since you’re often playing on a temporary festival stage. It’s especially rough when your playing outdoors. Venues are a bit more intimate, and you can really get everything to sound exactly how it’s meant to.

Who would be your 3 dream festival headliners?

The 1975, Taking Back Sunday, Kings Of Leon

Who are the best new band you’ve discovered lately that everyone should know about?

Oh Wonder, The Japanese House, Catfish and The Bottlemen.

What band or artist is your secret, or not so secret, guilty pleasure?

There is no pleasure that I feel guilty about! I think everyone should check out a band I’ve listened to since middle school called Head Automatica, they rock hard 🙂
