How would you describe your taste in music?
I don’t know. I like what I like, doesn’t really matter to me much more than that.
Who do you consider to be your favourite band and why?
I don’t do favourites, I love them all the same. Some bands I keep going back to again and again, Radiohead, My Morning Jacket, The National, Runrig, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen.
Who is the best live band you’ve ever seen?
Ryan Adams, solo in the Glasgow Concert Hall. Just great, really really great.
What is the one song that you could listen to forever?
I don’t think anyone could listen to one song forever… Seems a bit extreme…
What album, if any, was a turning point in your ‘musical life’ and why?
The first Rage Against The Machine album. I’d never heard anything so exciting, blew me away completely
In 3 words, what makes a good album or song?
Whatever it is, I’m pretty sure you cant get it into three words.
A festival or a gig? Why?
Gig for me, just because that’s what I like. Festivals are fun but I like a dark room.
Who would be your dream 3 festival headliners?
Dylan, Springsteen, Young. Surely that’s everyone’s right?!
Who are the best new band you’ve discovered lately that everyone should know about?
To be honest I haven’t heard anything new in a while, I’m open to suggestions if anyone knows some good stuff.
What band or artist is your secret, or not so secret, guilty pleasure?
I love Kiss. I don’t think that’s a guilty pleasure, its an awesome pleasure, but I’ve been worryingly informed that hair metal is no longer cool?! outrageous.
