Sussex alt-rockers City Of Ashes have revealed their new single Save Me. The track is taken from their new album Rise, released in 2016.

Speaking of the track, frontman Orion Powell says; “I wrote the song about growing up in Carlow, Ireland, as a teenager. It’s the last time I remember feeling truly free and a time in my life I often think about and always miss. Lyrically, it’s one of my favourite songs on the whole album and one that means such a lot to me personally.”

The video was filmed on the quintet’s first European tour with US rockers Orgy. The band suffered a rocky time on the tour with it being cut short with no warning;

“Nobody would hire us a vehicle so we had to leave all of our equipment in Barcelona. We then flew to London and picked up our van and drove to Germany to get our equipment back, this took nearly another week. I don’t know how much lower it can get than sleeping in the back of your van in Cologne surrounded by your equipment, not knowing what’s going to happen or how you’re going to get home. We had no money left after losing it all on a tour that got so dramatically cut short.”

You can catch the band on tour in June in support of the single. Check out the dates below;

June
13th – The Scene, Swansea
14th – Bullingdon, Oxfrod
15th – Surya, London
16th – SWX, Bristol
17th – Star & Garter, Manchester
