Following a five year hiatus in which the band pursued several individual projects, British extreme metal masters Akercocke are back with album number six and a fresh run of UK dates following their August appearance at Bloodstock festival.
Three of the band’s founding members; Jason Mendonca, Paul Scanlon and David Gray are joined by new bassist Nathaneal Underwood for the September and October shows and the as yet untitled sixth album set for release in the Autumn.
Frontman Jason Mendonca says of the quartet’s return:
“Circus Akercocke returns to the road at last. After our five year break from the live circuit, the band is charged, primed and ready to unleash our signature metal assault. Expect a barrage of rampant beats, face-melting guitar work, fan favorites’ from the past and killer new tunes from the present. See you down the front!”
