2000 Trees Ones To Watch 2017

5 Polary – Whilst the whole festival is about finding your favourite new band, the Neu stage is the place to see those bands that are just starting to creep onto people’s radars; the place to see them before they make it. This year opening up the Neu stage on the Friday is Polary, a […]

2000 Trees Festival has always prided itself on championing the best new talent in music. This year’s line-up is certainly no different and festival goers are spoilt for choice. Here’s who we think you should check out this year; you may just find your favourite new band.

1 Brutus

If there is one set you really won’t forget in a hurry it’s likely that it’ll be Brutus’ one.  Already the band has secured themselves as one to keep an eye on with their loud and dominant sound & their summer of festival performances is set to only continue this. The band hit up the Cave on the Friday; with Employed To Serve & Shvpes either side of them (!!) Do not miss out.

2 Giants –

If you like your music loud then head to The Cave on the Saturday and check out Giants. The hardcore band from Essex/London has spent the last year working as hard as possible and the rewards just keep on coming. Given the task of opening The Cave on Saturday morning, they are sure to provide a cure to that Friday night-too many white Russians hangover.

3 Fizzy Blood –

The band of the moment. Fizzy Blood seemed to have hit a turning point in recent months & a huge wave of support for the band has come flooding in, and deservedly so. Having only been around since 2014, the band has already found themselves on some of the biggest festival line ups & on tour with the likes of While She Sleeps. The only downside to Fizzy Blood at 2000 Trees though is that clash with The Menzingers forest set; the hardest choice you’ll make all weekend.

4 Kamikaze Girls –

Kamikaze Girls Facebook bio best sums up exactly what the band are about. “(Kamikaze Girls) want you to know that it’s okay to be sad. Since 2014 the Riot Grrrl duo, consisting of vocalist and guitarist Lucinda Livingstone and drummer Conor Dawson, have used music as a means to challenge attitudes and taboos surrounding mental health.” They are the perfect band for right now & their music is sure to resonate with many. Head to The Axiom for a breath of musical fresh air.

5 Polary –

Whilst the whole festival is about finding your favourite new band, the Neu stage is the place to see those bands that are just starting to creep onto people’s radars; the place to see them before they make it. This year opening up the Neu stage on the Friday is Polary, a band that so many people are about to fall in love with over the festival weekend and beyond. Hailing from just up the road in Cheltenham, the local boys have a catchy melodic vibe that is going to be absolutely perfect for a summery Friday morning.

6 De Staat –

Hailing from The Netherlands, De Staat, are set to tear up the Main Stage at 2000 Trees this year. Since releasing their debut album back in 2009 the band have played every festival going & won numerous awards and this year it’s time for them to win over the Gloucestershire crowd, a task they’ll more than triumph at. Their big anthemic rock sounds will be perfect for the main stage.

7 Weirds –

Leeds band, Weirds, are the psych-rockers that are constantly proving why they are one of the most exciting new bands out there right now. Already they have signed to Alcopop! Records, released their debut album, Swarmculture, and hit the road with the likes of The Wytches & HCBP and they are constantly working hard and doing what they love. Providing something a little different on this year’s line up, fans of Allusondrugs who have played in previous years will want to check them out.

8 Milestones – Words: Lizi Birt

Milestones are a British melodic rock band that have been taking the world by storm! Signed to Fearless Records, they’ve supported Taking Back Sunday, Simple Plan and With Confidence and wowed crowds with their catchy tracks. They are sure to go down an absolute treat at 2000 Trees, we’ll be heading along for sure.

9 Peaness –

Another band due to gather new fans on the Neu stage this year is Peaness. The 3 piece indie rock band from Chester, have been gathering support and fans since the release of their debut EP, No Fun, which was self released on cassette tape, back in 2015. They’re a band that are fun and will win over the masses when they least expect it. After you’ve checked out Milk Teeth on the Main Stage, take a trip, via the bar of course, to the Neu stage and fall in love with Peaness.

10 Soeur –

Taking on the challenge of opening the Neu Stage on Saturday are, fairly local, band Soeur. They’ve got a sound like no one else and are likely to be that band you keep having an itch to check out post-festival. They’re cool, sassy & really have that something special. Fans of Tall Ships, Milk Teeth & Nirvana get involved.

See you there!
