Slam Dunk 2016 Review – Part One
Slam Dunk festival celebrated its tenth birthday this year with a monster party! With a diverse line-up including Panic! At the Disco, Of Mice & Men, Hellions, Blood Youth, As It Is, Yellowcard and many more, it was one not to be missed! Four writers (including myself at the Midlands) attended over the course of the weekend and give their views below!
Lacuna Coil – Delirium
Over the years Lacuna Coil have really developed their talents, and Delirium is their heaviest to date. However, the change in line up could have been a factor in the musical change but it could also be that they are still growing as people and artists and want to try other forms.

Black Crown Initiate to join Sumerian Alliance tour
Pennsylvania prog metallers Black Crown Initiate are set to hit the UK and mainland Europe this September/October. The tour also consists of Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya and Volumes.
Architects – All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us
Architects, are a five piece hardcore band from Brighton, formed over a decade ago back in 2004, the band have now finally released their epic seventh album, ‘All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us.’ And if you’re a big fan of their previous album, ‘Lost Forever // Lost Together’ then you’ll definitely be a fan of this eleven track killer.
Upload Festival 2016
Before I start my review I would like to say that the UK needs more festivals like this one. It is rare that you will see such a great line up on a festival bill, especially one that has some of the best unsigned / DIY bands in the UK, so with anticipated excitement I took the long drive down to Wakefield for the first ever Upload Festival at Warehouse23.

Asking Alexandria unveil ‘Here I Am’ video
Asking Alexandria are set to make a return to the UK with an appearance at the Kerrang Awards and have revealed a brand new video for Here I Am. As with the band’s previous releases, the video contains a poignant message and delves deeper into recently released album The Black.
Spotlight on: South Wales
South Wales has long been known to supply some of the best rock and metal acts with the likes of Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics, The Blackout, Kids in Glass Houses, Funeral For A Friend and Bullet For My Valentine being the major exports. While Wales celebrates the success of these bands, they would not exist had it not been for the underground music scene providing platforms and exposure. So what does South Wales have to offer? For I Am King – ‘Daemons’ | Album
I really would struggle to pick a favourite song, but highlights have to be Interlude, Hades, We Must Obey, and Breathe The Fire; but every song on the 10-track album packs a punch and had me headbanging in my tiny university room.
