My Truck experience started later than advertised due to having to work! After speeding down the A34 (Disclaimer: speeding added for excitement purposes only) I finally arrived and had an agonizing wait in the queue to get my press pass being able to hear Lonely the Brave knowing I was missing them, so my introduction to Truck this year was me wanting to do an angry old person shaking finger pointing at whoever was at the front of the queue holding me up...

Playing in a band can be a full time job, but the origin of post-hardcore quintet Jack the Envious combined music and national service. In 2012, vocalist Nir Perlman and guitarists Guy Avnon and Shalev Grados formed the band in high school, later being joined by bassist Guy Chekarov during military service. Throughout the time period of their formation to 2014, the band juggled songwriting, relentless touring and military careers.

Columbus – Spring Forever

Brisbane trio Columbus release debut album Spring Forever through UNFD on August 26. The record is the follow up to 2015’s EP Home Remedy which saw the band break out into the limelight. The power-punk trio came together in school and were completed via a school jazz band (no, really) and we all need to thank that school band for gifting us a very talented trio!

Meet indie rockers Crystal Balloon

There's never anything much in there but I came across an article about Welsh indie rockers Crystal Balloon who released their debut EP Hurricane on July 15. So I checked them out and you should too! The trio consist of guitarist/vocalist Jack Stanton, guitarist Tim Burden and drummer Erik Karvik and take their influence from a range of genres, combining Brit rock with singer/songwriter storytelling.
