Acoustic GENRE ARCHIVES

Sleeping with Sirens, State Champs @ Union Chapel, Islington

Union Chapel in Islington is the venue for tonight. A church seems a very odd place to head to for a Sleeping with Sirens and State Champs show. It is a rare opportunity for fans of the bands to see their idols perform their hits acoustically and it was one they snapped up with tickets selling out within an hour as frontman Kellin Quinn mentions during the set. As I arrive at the venue, there is a massive queue and it’s obvious people have camped out overnight. There is a touching moment as the headline band emerge from the neo-gothic church with pizza boxes they give to the queue.

Truck Festival 2016 – Steventon, Oxfordshire

My Truck experience started later than advertised due to having to work! After speeding down the A34 (Disclaimer: speeding added for excitement purposes only) I finally arrived and had an agonizing wait in the queue to get my press pass being able to hear Lonely the Brave knowing I was missing them, so my introduction to Truck this year was me wanting to do an angry old person shaking finger pointing at whoever was at the front of the queue holding me up...

Mitch Emery Takes on The A-Z Questionaire Challenge

Mitch Emery is the type of Singer/Songwriter for those who don't usually like Singer/Songwriters, this is a guy who looks like that guy from that band you can't remember the name of but, remember really liking. IF you take Green Day, My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy, blend with Damien Rice and Glen Hansard, garnish with a sprinkling of Hip-Hop and a healthy dollop of lively stage persona. You now have yourself a Mitch Emery.

Upload Festival 2016

Before I start my review I would like to say that the UK needs more festivals like this one. It is rare that you will see such a great line up on a festival bill, especially one that has some of the best unsigned / DIY bands in the UK, so with anticipated excitement I took the long drive down to Wakefield for the first ever Upload Festival at Warehouse23.
